REBUILD: WEEK 2 OVULATION
REST.
This week we are talking about cleaning out the junk inside your mombody.
We know that when you keep your body beautiful on the inside, that this beauty shows up on the outside as well. Two of the most powerful ways to do this are by 1). hydrating your fascia and 2). keeping your lymph drainage running smoothly. (We cover the lymph in DETOX this week).
FASCIA: You know that unhealthy fascia is dehydrated, sticky, and begins to thicken, which traps toxins inside your beautiful mombody because those toxins cannot be passed through your body. The best way to keep your fascia healthy and to keep these toxins moving freely on their way out of your momobdy is to massage the fascia with tools that reach the fascial layer that lays just below the skin surface. Tools like the theragun, a foam roller, a personal massuese (!), a jade roller, a gua sha stone, and the fascia blaster all work wonders for keeping your fascia healthy. The point is to make sure you are massaging your fascial layer as often as possible.
LYMPH DRAINAGE: The best way to support the lymph system is also through massage. So basically you are taking care of both your fascia and lymph when you massage them - like killing two birds with one stone. But in addition, a dry brush is a super effective way to help your body get rid of the junk through your lymph system. You can literally brush your skin and this will help your lymph system get rid of the toxins that are trapped inside you.
Here are a few more ideas to support these two systems so your mombody can be extra beautiful on the inside:
Stop those toxins at the source! The more toxins you can clean up in your life when it comes to skincare and household products, the better off you’ll be. While we can’t control toxins in the outside world, we can certainly control what’s going on inside our bodies by choosing which products we put on our skin and which products we use to clean our homes. When we have cleaner, healthier product choices to begin with, there are less toxins to clean up and metabolize. Try to finish up the existing products you have and choose healthier options in the future.
Hydrate your mombody! Your fascia and lymph system are heavily reliant on getting enough fluid into your mombody. Drink as much water as you can to support the fluid exchange that happens when you massage your fascia and brush your lymph. It’s also a wonderful thing to drink warm lemon water because it helps your body detox. (Lemon gets you alkaline and revs up your body’s digestion). Drinking collagen and bone broth are great ways to support your fascia because this connective tissue is made of protein. (An example of this is in DETOX).
Get inverted! Lay down on your back with your legs straight up a wall to help activate the lymph system. ’
Twisting is a good thing for your lymph system and reshaping your waistline. All you need to do is stand with your feet hip-width apart and extend your arms out straight to either side of you and twist your body back and forth. This motion is massaging your internal organs and wringing out your waistline.
Jumping on a trampoline is great for your lymph drainage as well. The bouncing helps to flush these toxins away.
Brush your teeth, brush your hair, brush your fascia, brush your lymph! I say this because as women we brush our teeth and we brush our hair every single day before we enter the world outside. But now I want you to get into the habit of taking care of your fascia and your lymph as well. They deserve self-care as often as you can fit it into your busy momlife daily routine. Brush your fascia, brush your lymph!
This video shows you how to get inverted to support your mombody’s lymph drainage system. I also talk about the pelvic floor too, but the main takeaway is moving the drainage from your legs up to your heart.
